MATTHEW ROBERTS  

Founder & President

Mr. Roberts is President and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Landmark Environmental, Inc. He has more than 30 years of diversified professional experience that includes Industrial Hygiene (IH) and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program development and management. His technical leadership roles involve IH exposure, hazard, and risk assessments in public and occupational health, industrial safety, and environmental contexts.

Mr. Roberts' extensive practical and applied technical experience includes the development and implementation of IH and EHS Programs in both operating facility and construction/ remediation settings.  

As CTO, Mr. Roberts leads teams of certified IHs and safety professionals and brings a hands-on style when performing project or peer reviews of technical reports and data generated for clients across a wide array of industries and institutions, including power generation, paper products, specialty chemicals, agri-business, oil and gas, higher education and major health care.

Mr. Roberts has provided expert litigation support for a variety of commercial and industrial clients including oil and gas, manufacturing, surface mining, and higher education. The testimony addressed contaminants such as asbestos, formaldehyde, welding fumes, and mold. Mr. Roberts developed dose and exposure reconstruction models based on existing data and work practice scenario histories. He has prepared written expert opinions regarding standards of care and best practices, which have supported successful rulings or settlement of the cases.

Thomas Norman, P.E., Senior Consulting Engineer

Thomas Norman

Tom Norman is a Registered Professional Engineer and Senior Consulting Engineer with more than 35 years of experience in the environmental industry.. Mr. Norman’s multidisciplinary technical engineering experience includes construction dewatering, piping, water conveyance, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, water treatment, remediation, and cost estimating. He has provided construction management and oversight for civil and environmental projects at various commercial, industrial, and higher education facilities. With his industrial hygiene expertise, Mr. Norman also directs hazardous building material surveys, planning, design, and remediation oversight. He provides technical and health and safety training to clients for compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Department of Transportation regulations.

Tony Truschel, Environmental Due Diligence/Regulatory Compliance
Tony Truschel

Tony Truschel has more than 35 years of progressive technical, personnel, and business management experience in environmental due diligence, project permitting and development, industrial compliance, and litigation support. His technical and regulatory compliance experience includes Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act permitting and compliance, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) compliance and closure/post-closure requirements, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI), and radioactive waste assessment and compliance. Mr. Truschel provides subject matter expertise in remediation strategies for industrial property redevelopment and transfer, contingent environmental liability cost estimates, regulatory closure, and environmental liability apportionment.

Craig Bruno, P.G., Environmental Investigations and Remediation
Craig Bruno

Craig Bruno specializes in environmental investigations and remediation for subsurface material, groundwater, and buildings. This specialty includes the design and implantation of soil and groundwater characterization programs and the design and implementation of solid and hazardous waste closure and voluntary cleanup plans. Mr. Bruno provides expertise in the development and implementation of Phase II environmental site investigations to address due diligence requirements, risk management, and remediation requirements for complex commercial and industrial property transactions. Mr. Bruno brings a spirit of client advocacy and risk-based problem-solving to projects with multiple stakeholders. In addition, his long-standing asbestos and hazardous building material experience include abatement planning and management of large-scale abatement, demolition, and asbestos-contaminated soil projects.
